McDonough Hall’s Hart Auditorium, located within Georgetown University’s Law Center, serves as the primary venue for many of the campus’s law-related programs. Originally constructed in 1971, the 291-seat auditorium underwent a comprehensive renovation to modernize its upper and lower lobbies, reconfigure seating arrangements, and install upgraded audiovisual and lighting systems, along with new HVAC equipment.
In May 2024, the renovated Hart Auditorium earned the prestigious Pinnacle Award at the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s 29th Annual Premiere Awards, which honor outstanding local design and inspire innovation in interior space design.
